How to Brew Anise Star

Strong, sweet, liquorice/anise flavour, more intense than anise seed.

Sourced from China.

Here is how to brew Anise Star for a clean, full-flavoured cup. One ingredient. Nothing added.

How to Brew Anise Star

  1. Measure about 2 g of Anise Star into your cup or teapot.
  2. Heat fresh, filtered water to 100 C.
  3. Pour the water over the Anise Star and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Strain and serve hot or iced, plain or sweetened.
  5. It re-brews 1-2 times, so you can steep a second cup from the same Anise Star.

Tips

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, tightly sealed.
  • Iced: Brew at double strength, then pour over ice for a cold Anise Star.
  • Get more from it: Re-steep the same Anise Star for a lighter second cup.
